How to optimize your blog to be Google friendly

Usually everybody wants to run a powerful blog that will not only pull large traffic but will also will become an authority in the blogosphere.  Usually, what we often overlook is what gives our close competitors edge over us. Here are powerful 9 things you must pay close attention to in on your blog for easy indexation, accessibility and expansion.

1. AVOID ERROR PAGES: I use Blogger platform for my blog and I noticed that the category feature a blog needs to posses was missing in blogger though I later found out that it was represented as LABEL in blogger at the right hand side of the NEW POST pane. But I have already created pages that represents categories and forgot to link my posts to the related categories later. What I found out was that Google never indexed those categories because of the error pages Displaying “NO POST FOUND FOR THIS LABEL” which reduced my blog pages. The lesser the number of pages in your blog the lesser GOOGLEBOT regard your blog and error pages increases bounce rate as well as GoogleBot  penalties. In any platform you blog on, either Wordpress , Blogger or Typepad, try as much as possible to reduce or remove error pages. In fact, always evaluate your blog for error pages.

2. RECOVER BROKEN LINKS: as you are really trying to become an authority blogger through making your blog cohesive and intensive internal linking, always check for broken links. I have tried it couple of times when linking to previous related blog posts in the body of a post. I usually make a mistake of publishing them and GOOGLEBOT takes instant action to index the new content. I would later find out that those links or some of them where returning error or NOT FOUND, GO TO HOMEPAGE HERE. If possible, try to open all the internal links as well as external links you have placed on your blog post to correct any link breakage.

3. GOOGLE FRIENDLY AND USER FRIENDLY CODING: Heck, for the life of me, search engine spiders will never or will struggle to crawl poorly coded blogs. For Wordpress, I would recommend using Genesis, Thesis or TwentyEleven as your theme. They are very Google friendly or search for WOOThemes. You can customize the looks without necessarily altering the coding. In Blogger, use the PICTURE WINDOW, DYNAMIC VIEWS but most of them are very Search engine friendly since it comes from Google themselves. Blog themes do contribute to poor search results and ranking. This is a very important.

4.  LOADING OF PAGES: I have visited blogs that it takes eternity to load all the page contents. Not only does it take time, it also takes an enormous amount of megabytes to load a single page. Google indexes faster websites and blogs that load faster. They are also trying to make sure that great blogs and websites also give great experience to the visitors. Try to reduce the sizes of your blog images. Some html plugins also takes a lot of time to load look into this. Avoid too much plugins that reduce page load time, only select few that will really contribute to promoting your blog and monetization.

5. USE GOOGLE WEBMASTER TOOLS: A good number of bloggers only use Google webmaster tools for sitemap submission and blog verification. That’s bad. This is the reason why you don’t get Google friendly. Google webmaster tools will offer you 60 percent of SEO advice and help. Others comes from backlinks, design, social media, page load time and other little intricacies. There are some powerful tips Google webmaster central will give you that most SEO experts don’t know like Google Schema from schema.org. this determines how arranged your blog is as well as how often your blog gets displayed and search queries, how your blog will respond to queries and several others. Head straight to Google Webmaster Tools and make use of it.

6. FEWER THAN 15 OUTBOUND LINKS PER PAGE: Listen, most bloggers don’t know that the greater the number of outbound links a blog has the lesser the blog repute in search engines. I try as much as possible in my blog www.motivated2success.biz to reduce the outbound links even to five or maximum ten per page. While doing this, I increase the number of inbound links. In fact, work on linking your blog post to each other. It increases the amount of time people spend on your blog as, Google likes this.

7. CREATE PAGES THAT ARE RELEVANT: I wonder why some persons will start a blog without a mission. Every blog must have a central focus as well as a niche and everything the blog must portray must be in line with whatever it’s all about. This is why every affiliate product you must promote must be in line with what you are talking about.

8. AVOID BLACK HAT SEO TRICKS: Sooner or later, Google, Yahoo and Bing web crawlers will catch up with you.  Avoid spamming and spontaneous link building; build your links naturally and gradually. Don’t head straight to build 50 links in a day. GOOGLEBOT will recognize you as a spammer. To become an authority blogger, you have to adopt blogging ethics. 9. DO NOT LINK TO UNRELATED WEBSITES AND BLOG:
This is simple, but incoming and outgoing links should be based on your niche alone. There are subcategories in any niche. Only target blogs that talks about similar interests. Google indexes keywords not just pages. To hit the first page of your blog’s central keywords, it is paramount that you only focus only on blogs with similar keywords and phrases. With time, GoogleBot will recognize your blog as an authority in those keywords

CONCLUSION
There is nothing as powerful as ON-PAGE SEO Optimization. Look into your blog and take some time to work on it. Make your blog very Google friendly. Remember to share.
